ESR 204: Introduction to Environmental Restoration
Portland Community College
Professor: Dr. Valance Brenneis
Group members: Shari-Beth Nadell and Ezra Sinclair
This course covered the ecological theory and practice of environmental restoration using local and global case studies.
The final assignment was to work in lab groups to create a restoration plan for a future restoration site on the PCC campus. We assessed site conditions, identified drivers of degradation, determined project goals, selected appropriate site preparation methods and plant communities, and developed a timeline for implementation as well as a monitoring plan.
Because of my growing interest in landscape architecture, I created a conceptual illustration for our presentation to help describe our restoration plan.
The following are slides from our presentation.
